How to use

A stock asset list you maintain. A pre-written report after daily US close. A live updated report whenever you ask.

Evening Markets tracks the names you add. After US cash closes it writes tonight’s report: major indices, a broad market summary, then your book with closing prices, a short comment, and links to dig further on any name.

  1. Date and time. Glasgow. Saved report is the weekday freeze at 21:10 (UK time). Live update is a refresh you ran.
  2. Refresh. The Refresh button pulls a live update at any time.
  3. Asset list. Locked. You can read the names in the report. Saving a new list needs the desk passphrase. You can add one name from a ticker, ISIN, or name; full paste still works for reorder.
  4. Notify at close. Optional. Allow once and you get a ping when the 21:10 snapshot is ready. Opens the app to the saved report.
  5. Broad market news. Index cards, then a wide-to-narrow tape. Open Headlines used for the raw wires.
  6. Asset list news. Daily keeps the order of names in Asset list, so you choose that order, for example largest to smallest. Weekly, Monthly, Annual, and 5 Year rank by size of move. 5 Year is blank if the name is younger than five years. Each name has a headline and links to dig further (live news, and fund sources when it is a fund).

Evening Markets is one personal desk. The asset list is one book, used for the weekday freeze at 21:10.

You can open the report, refresh prices, and install the app from your browser.

You cannot edit the asset list. That is locked so the book is not overwritten.

If you want your own book, you need your own copy of the app, on your own address (for example yourname-stock-report.grok.me). That copy has its own list and its own nightly run. Installing this app does not give you a private list. It is still this desk.
